The duties of the internal units of the department are as follows:

Headquarters: The Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, Chief Secretary, Specialist Commissioners, Senior Technical Officers, and Secretary are responsible for overseeing the department's affairs and assisting the Commissioner in managing the department’s operations.


Comprehensive Planning Division: Responsible for policy research and promotion, comprehensive planning, administration, property management, building renovations, logistics, procurement, and related matters.

 

Fire Prevention Division: Responsible for fire management, fire safety equipment review, inspections, planning, implementation, research, consultation, supervision, and assessment; management of hazardous materials and flammable high-pressure gas safety; administrative penalties for violations and related matters.

 

Disaster Mitigation and Planning Division: Responsible for drafting disaster prevention and relief regulations, planning disaster prevention systems and mitigation strategies, conducting city-level disaster prevention exchanges, promoting disaster prevention education, and managing the Disaster Science Education Center.

 

Preparedness and Response Division: Responsible for planning and implementing disaster response training and drills, managing disaster relief resource preparedness, operation of the emergency response center, establishment and implementation of emergency response systems, disaster relief meetings, and inspections.

 

Information Systems Division : Responsible for promoting information integration projects, managing server equipment, maintaining communication systems, and implementing information security protocols.

 

Disaster and Rescue Division: Responsible for the planning, supervision, management, and assessment of disaster relief operations.

 

Emergency Medical Services (Ambulance) Division : Responsible for planning, supervision, management, assessment, training, ambulance services, public health coordination, and promoting emergency medical care education.

 

Fire Investigation Division: Responsible for investigating the causes of fires, forensic analysis, fire data collection and analysis, issuing fire investigation reports, and fire certification.

 

Civil Power Utilization Division: Responsible for the planning, training, management, and assessment of civilian manpower utilization.

 

Inspector’s Office: Responsible for supervising and managing the duties of fire personnel, managing injury compensation, and overseeing other duty-related matters.

 

Administrative Services : Responsible for managing documents, files, accounting, legal affairs, public relations, and any other tasks not assigned to other divisions.

 

Training Center: Responsible for the education and training of fire personnel, promoting fire-related academic research, and other related activities.

 

Emergency Dispatch Center : Responsible for handling 119 emergency calls, dispatch coordination, inter-agency communication, statistical analysis of disaster and rescue services, managing communication equipment, and maintaining operational readiness.

 

Accounting Office: Responsible for conducting financial accounting and statistical operations in compliance with the law.

 

Personnel Office: Responsible for managing personnel affairs in accordance with the law.

 

Government Ethics Office: Responsible for handling ethics-related matters in compliance with the law.


The duties of the department's field units are as follows:

First Disaster Rescue Squadron: Responsible for executing fire prevention, disaster rescue, and emergency medical services in the Zhongzheng, Wanhua, and Wenshan districts of Taipei City, and supporting various fire safety tasks.

 

Second Disaster Rescue Squadron: Responsible for executing fire prevention, disaster rescue, and emergency medical services in the Daan, Xinyi, and Nangang districts of Taipei City, and supporting various fire safety tasks.

 

Third Disaster Rescue Squadron: Responsible for executing fire prevention, disaster rescue, and emergency medical services in the Zhongshan, Songshan, and Neihu districts of Taipei City, and supporting various fire safety tasks.

 

Fourth Disaster Rescue Squadron: Responsible for executing fire prevention, disaster rescue, and emergency medical services in the Datong, Shilin, and Beitou districts of Taipei City, and supporting various fire safety tasks.
