On September 20, 2024, Ulaanbaatar City Head of Metropolitan Emergency Department Director Altantuya Dashnyam led a delegation to visit the Taipei City Fire Department. During the visit, both parties held in-depth discussions on high-rise fire safety, the design of egress routes, air supply system management, and disaster response techniques. They also explored future cooperation in firefighting technology and rescue operations.
The discussion also highlighted the two cities’ strong partnership, which has lasted for more than 20 years. Since 2001, the Taipei City Fire Department and Ulaanbaatar have maintained a solid cooperative relationship. In the past, Taipei has donated fire trucks, ambulances, and equipment to Ulaanbaatar, in addition to sharing its expertise in disaster response and emergency medical service. In 2018, representatives from Mongolia’s Emergency Situation Department visited Taipei’s Disaster Response Center, further deepening the exchange of technology and resources.
Director Altantuya visited to discuss opportunities for collaboration in disaster response technologies, firefighting equipment, and personnel training. Taipei City Fire Department Director Mo Huaizu stated that such exchanges not only strengthen the friendship between the two cities but also provide valuable opportunities to improve firefighting capabilities and disaster response strategies for both sides.
Director Altantuya and her delegation expressed high praise for Taipei’s achievements in fire prevention and disaster response, especially in high-rise buildings. She expressed her hope for continued cooperation, particularly in the development and application of firefighting technologies tailored to different environments and climate conditions, to enhance fire prevention and rescue capabilities in both cities.
Director Mo reaffirmed Taipei’s commitment to promoting international exchanges and cooperation in firefighting technologies. By integrating technological innovation with practical response experience, the Taipei City Fire Department aims to safeguard citizens’ lives and property, ensure successful rescue missions, and protect the safety of its firefighters. Director Mo also expressed his hope that the Taipei City Fire Department will continue contributing to international firefighting and disaster relief efforts in the future.
