Tomb Sweeping Festival fast approaches. In order to prevent fires in cemeteries, thirty-one public cemeteries will be patrolled by the Taipei City Fire Department from March 19 to April 5, 2022. On March 19, 20, 26, 27, and April 2, 3, 4, 5,there are firefighters from Taipei City Volunteer Fire Brigade will be stationed at the Fude Memorial Tower, Fude Cemetery, and Yangmingshan No.1 Cemetery conduct guard and promote fire prevention. At the same time, firefighters will provide the public with folding water bags for putting out the remaining fires.

The fire department reminds the public to follow "4 Don'ts and 2 Remembers" principles when sweeping tomb：“Don't burn weeds”, “Don't throw cigarette butts”, “Don't let joss paper flown, “Don't set off fireworks”, “Remember to put out fires”, and “Remember to pick up trash when leaving”. In addition, personal health management and protective hygiene measures are still required during the pandemic. If you carry alcohol for disinfection, it should be kept away from fires such as incense sticks and candles to avoid danger.

Various disaster prevention APPs can be downloaded before sweeping tomb. For example, “Taipei City Disaster Prevention App” provides instant information such as weather and rainfall as a reference and preparation. "Video call 119 APP" can help to transmit incident images and GPS coordinates to the 119 Emergency Dispatch Center when the fire occur in the cemeteries, especially in the remote mountainous areas. This will shorten the time it takes for firefighters to reach the incident area. "Taiwan Oh My Guard App" can activate the life chain and call for volunteers as soon as possible in the event of OHCA. Volunteers will perform CPR and AED for strive more chances of successful resuscitation before ambulance arrival.  

In conclusion, it is important to prevent fire and secure the life and property during the Tomb Sweeping Festival.
