Following its victory at the IDC 2023 Taiwan Future Enterprise Award on October 19, the Taipei City Fire Department's 119 High-Performance Dispatch System has once again secured another achievement. We have further been honored with the "IDC Future Enterprise Awards 2023 regional finals - Special Award for Smart Cities - Best in Digital Policies." Chief Secretary Yung-Chou, Liu and his team accepted the award at the Hall 404, Suntec city convention centre in Singapore on October 31st. This remarkable achievement has garnered recognition from various quarters.

IDC is one of the world's leading organizations in research and consulting for the telecommunications technology market. The IDC Asia-Pacific Future Enterprise Awards 2023 involves initial selections by individual countries before advancing to the regional finals. Out of over a thousand entries from the Asia-Pacific region, TFD’s "119 High-Performance Dispatch System" stood out and received recognition from the judging panel. This is truly an exceptional accomplishment.

The TFD developed the 119 High-Performance Dispatch System to handle the large number of cases in Taipei every year. It took 3 years to build the system, which officially launched on January 1, 2022. According to statistics from January to September 2023, it has handled approximately 100,000 cases, with an average of around 1,000 incoming calls to 119 daily. The system can handle multiple types of reports, also allowing precise information management and visualization , real-time detection of location, and digital information transmission. It can also integrate with the Transportation Department's Changeable Message Sign (CMS)system to remind citizens to avoid disaster areas and routes, and thus improves the quality and efficiency of emergency response and rescue services. The department continues to import advanced technologies to create a fast and effective fire and rescue service, aiming to create a livable and safe smart city for its citizens.
