Taipei City Fire Department recommends preparing 15 items in an emergency bag for disasters like the impending typhoon. Many of the supplies could come in handy, though fitting them all into one bag could prove to be a challenge.
In an advertisement the Taipei City Fire Department urges people to prepare an emergency bag. The department’s website lists 15 necessary items. Besides water and food, it has a blanket, jacket, toilet paper, rain gear and gloves. Can it all fit in one bag?

When we pack recommended items like the small blanket and jacket, it’s full. There’s no room for personal items like underwear. The emergency bag needs to be a large hiking bag. It’s not practical.
“These things are all necessary: food, water, ID copies. I think people should prepare such a bag.”
“Who will carry this? Nobody would. The government needs to take a more realistic approach.”
Two bags may be needed to pack in all the items recommended by the fire department. Those who wish to pack light will have to do without some of these so-called essential items.(FORMOSA NEWS)
