The World Rescue Organization (WRO) Chairman, Paul Schroeder, and Mr. Richard Chang, the Rescue Technology Innovation and Consultant Association of Taiwan, along with other directors and supervisors, visited the Taipei City Government on July 11th, 112th year (2023) at 16:00, and were warmly welcomed by Mayor Wayne Chiang and Commissioner Huai-Chu Mo of the Fire Department.

Mayor Wayne Chiang expressed that Taipei City, Taiwan’s capital, has always emphasized the development of disaster rescue skills. The Fire Department conducts a two-month rescue training program every year, dedicated to learning the latest rescue techniques and knowledge, and ensuring that Taipei City's firefighters have the most advanced equipment, knowledge, and skills to respond to various disasters and emergencies. WRO has always played an important role in promoting the development and advancement of various rescue technologies, providing a platform for firefighters and rescuers worldwide to learn from each other and exchange experiences. WRO also organizes the World Rescue Challenge (WRC) every year. Taiwan participated in the 22nd WRC held in Luxembourg last year, exchanging rescue experiences and techniques with excellent search and rescue teams worldwide. We hope that Taipei City and WRO can further collaborate and strive for the opportunity to host the World Rescue Challenge in the future.

The Taipei City Government arranged Chairman Schroeder's visit to the 119 Emergency Dispatch Center, Emergency Operations Center of Taipei City, and the Taipei 101 Disaster Prevention Center. This provided an opportunity to gain firsthand understanding of Taipei City's firefighting personnel dispatch planning and the overall operational procedures during disasters. It also allowed for further insights into the city's disaster relief technologies. During the process, Chairman Schroeder shared experiences and perspectives from European countries regarding firefighting personnel training, firefighting strategies for electric vehicles and energy storage system fires, as well as trends in disaster response technology development. Chairman Schroeder expresses gratitude to the Taipei City Government for facilitating this valuable visit, deeply impressed by the city's overall disaster management planning and looks forward to future cooperation between the two parties.
